Waste heat to power

 

Waste heat generation is a technology that turns the residue heat generated in production process into electricity. It is energy efficient and environmental friendly. An important facility for waste heat generation is wast heat boiler, which produces steam to generate power, utilizing the heat or combustible material in the working media such as waste heat, waste fluid, etc. The boiler has a huge dimension and a large consumption of metal due to the low temperature of the working media. The waste heat type used for generation primarily include high temperature flue gas waste heat, chemical reaction waste heat, waste gas & fluid, low temperature waste heat etc.

There are many ways to recover the waste heat. In general, the best way is to comprehensively use the waste heat; then is to use directly; the last is to use indirectly ( produce steam to generation). Take iron&steel industry for example - the coke oven in steel plant. At present, there are more than 50 coke ovens of different size in large and medium steel enterprises. Except for Baosteel Group in Shanghai whose industrialized level has reached international grade, the rest factories have a large energy consumption, therefore, there is a huge potential to be tapped. For converter fume gas generation system in steel refining factory, there are 80 converters with a generation capacity of 3000 Kw, while for electric melting furnace system in steel refining factory, there are more than 20 furnaces in China at present, among which the 65 tons level of furnace can generate more than 5000 Kw of power per furnace.
